‘Old and New’ Premiere

Oregon Koto-Kai’s annual fall concert was held on Oct. 26th, and exclusively featured arrangements and compositions never before heard or performed in Oregon.

This included the live debut of my own piece, ‘Old and New’, written during my 2023 Japan residencies. While I have performed solo and duet versions around PDX, this was the first time it was performed anywhere fully orchestrated, as originally intended.

At first I was a little nervous about trying to work out all the odd time signatures with the ensemble, but they nailed it. They played beautifully and I couldn’t be happier. Plus it was all recorded. Video coming soon!
